Bijoux Cebu is a trade-only exhibition that will showcase an extensive collection of fashion accessories - costume jewellery, bags, sandals, components - focusing on the highly popularized trend of eco-fashion.Since the start of the Philippine fashion accessory industry in the 1970s, it has taken good advantage of the country’s varied natural and indigenous raw materials, promoting eco-friendly jewelry long before “eco-friendly� became popular.

Cebu, the capital province of Southern Philippines, also happens to be the country’s capital of the costume jewelry industry, primarily because Cebu is the industry’s main source of raw materials. This is why most companies are located in Cebu, with 90% of them all members of the FAME Foundation.

The exhibition will present the Spring-Summer 2011 Collection - an extensive and all-original collection of Philippine green jewelry.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:

Bijoux Cebu will highlight the Spring-Summer 2011 Collection.  In addition, it is designed to be an interactive and experiential trade show that builds on industry knowledge, business relationships, and social responsibility, and will share exclusive behind-the-scenes peeks at the industry.

The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Tourism, Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Regional and Provincial Directors, Cebu FAME Foundation Officers and other VIPs will welcome the visitors and buyers at the opening ceremony.

The line-up of activities includes:

	EXHIBITION You can bask in the refreshing ambience of the Exhibition Area where latest designs and Philippine-widest selection of eco-inspired fashion accessories and raw materials for Spring-Summer 2011 Collection are displayed. TREND ISLAND settings are lusciously displayed!
	FASHION SHOWS You can witness Daily Fashion Shows that are not only hip and chic, but Eco-Chic! See how Cebu’s Top Designers parade their green jewelry with a unique proposition, and be lavished with a show where 1,000 new products in tip-top designs and quality are launched and new product segments will be introduced.
	DESIGN COMPETITION An on-the-spot design competition will be held, representing an eclectic mix of seasoned Filipino artists and upcoming designers in the industry.  How they craft their creations - from the design process and mixing of raw materials to the final construction of the accessories - will be clearly seen and shared with the buyers.
	CRAFT DEMONSTRATION The show will allocate ample space for a Craft Demonstration Area where buyers can observe expert artisans demonstrating different techniques - such as shell inlay, wood carving, painting, dyeing, etc. - in the design and construction of fashion accessories.
	PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT To further provide buyers with hassle-free, on-the-spot designs and development, the Craft Demonstration Area will also provide Product Development Services.  Here, buyers can have on-the-spot samplings and actual production of customized accessories.
	CASH AND CARRY A specially designated space for a Cash And Carry Area will offer buyers ready stocks of fashion accessories and raw materials discounted up to 30% off.  At their option, buyers may make their purchases then immediately move on to the Product Development Area for on-the-spot designs and development.
	FIBER EXHIBIT A special showcase featuring the Philippine natural fibers and components will be highlighted in celebration of the International Year of the Natural Fibers.
	SPECIAL TRIPS As part of the program, special trips shall be made to local factories for behind-the-scenes peeks at the industry and the manufacturing process. And to share the Foundation’s corporate social responsibility with the buyers, there shall also be a special trip to the Foundation’s tree plantation under its Go Green project.  Go Green seeks to contribute to a sustainable environment for the fashion accessories industry.
	SOCIAL FUNCTIONS There will be social functions for both buyers and exhibitors, to better build lasting business relations.

Bijoux Cebu is scheduled right after the September 2010 edition of the Asia’s Fashion Jewellery And Accessories Fair (AFJAF) in Hongkong.  A good number of AFJAF’s buyers already visit Cebu after the show, either for business or pleasure.  Bijoux Cebu, offering both a commercial and social experience, will give them an even stronger reason for going to Cebu after AFJAF.
